Adoption Etiquette
When posting in adoptions and apply for pets, there are many things you should keep in mind.
1. Freebies are first come, first serve!
If you're applying for a freebie, make sure to check all other posts above you to make sure that the pet you're applying for hasn't been already adopted. If you are starting an adoption, you must send the pet to the first person who is requesting that dog or cat.
2. No whining!
When applying for a pet, who the new pet goes to is up to the owner. Therefore, if you did not recieve the pet that you wanted, there is no reason to whine about it or demand the pet. During a freebie, spam such as "Aww, but I wanted that 1!!" is not appriciated.
3. Give us something to work with...
If you're starting an adoption, make sure to give out rules about the pet, or at least show prefix preferances. If you're accepting trades, then let us know what you're looking for! It would make things a lot easier for the people applying if you let them know what you're looking for in your application.
4. Keep up with your thread.
Make sure to cross off, or remove pets that have been adopted. This will make it easier for all adopters to view the thread and know which pets have already been selected.
5. Extra Breedfiles and files should be sent with the pet.
If any extra breedfiles or fur files are needed to play with your pet, make sure to list them, or provide a link to where you can download them. It can be rather annoying to adopt a pet, to later find that it requires 3+ breedfiles that were not mentioned in the post.
If anyone has something to add, feel free to post here. :]
