Alright, so I'm an absolute newb when it comes to posing dogs, so bare with me, please! Pose 1 - Pose 2 What is good & bad about these poses? I'm mostly kind of shaky on alignment with dogs, and I'm pretty sure that's off here but I'm not quite sure what to aim for? Thanks for any/all help, guys! <3 :3

Ok, so the alignment isn't terrible, but you are definitely going to want it a little better for serious competition. In both poses the dog is turned too far away, which is why the alignment is off. Both heads are also turned too far away from the camera, you want one side of the nose showing (I personally like #2s) head best:) Lastly, the second ones breathing point is very low, which bends the front legs and doesn't show off the dog as nicely. I would go for a breathing point like the first picture: So head of #2, the breathing point of #1 and slightly better alignment would make the pose perfect:)

Thanks mntndewluver! I thought the 2nd one looked thinner or something some how and now I understand that it was the breathing. I defiantely do have to practice with alignment a lot more - it's what I struggle with the most with dogs. Thanks for those tips & critiques!
