hey guys! :3 I really enjoy hosting contests & shows, but it doesn't seem that very many people are interested in them. I was wondering if there was just that - no interest, maybe just a lack of time, or if you guys are interested in different contests/shows than the ones that are posted? I was thinking about maybe starting another raffle that can be entered by people 'participating' or hosting contests/shows/etc, but I wasn't sure if that would draw any interest in them or not. If the majority just isn't interseted in the contests posted, no hard feelings. I just was curious as to the type of shows you guys enjoy participating in if not the ones we have (or had in the past such as hexing contests & caption contests), or if you just don't have the time or want to enter them at all. Thanks for reading, Jess edit ~ A raffle for those participating in contests & shows will be started in the beginning of August. I'm still open to new ideas, though! edit x 2 ~ I'll also be putting a "currency" system in place for the forum so that you can rack up some 'bucks' or whatever we decide to call the currency and trade them for other things in the forum. =] Such as... petz, art services, breeding services, etc.

I think the raffle sounds like a good idea! I mean, I love entering shows, but half of my petz just don't have the right pose and they don't get many points. What about holding mock shows that also critiqued the poses of the petz and told people how the poses could improve? I think that would help people a bit, and maybe that would motivate them to enter shows more. This might now work, but it was worth a go.

I'll get started on that pretty soon. And the mock shows are a brilliant idea! I'll have to get something like that set up. Thanks, Bennie!

The mock shows are a really good idea. That would be helpful and pretty fun, I think. Personally, I've never been very interested in shows, but I enter them once in awhile.
As for other things, I like hexing contests. ^^ Also, someone on another forum once held a P5 Skinz-making contest, but I'm pretty sure the person became inactive and never judged it. I think something like that would be fun if there was enough interest.
Sorry for the lack of ideas, heh.

thanks for the input & ideas, Poppy! And the P5 skinz is a fun idea, I might just have to open one of those up these days - or some one else is more than welcome to start one, too. :]

The thing about shows is, I think, that they can become tedious if you have to wait a long time for them to fill up or be judged. It's easy to lose interest. Over at Lucid's Show Forum, which just reopened, there are tons of shows opening each day, people are enterting quickly, and they're being judged mostly within the span of a day or two. It certainly keeps up my interest! I guess the show community has dwindled a bit in population, but there's still definite interest!
As far as people not knowing how to pose petz, I totally understand! Even I'm a little unclear about what's an "ideal" pose. There are plenty of guides and other resources, and I know so many people in the showing community LOVE to help. Just gotta ask for it
I do like the idea of mock shows though!! Good idea Bennie.
