I've never been able to even try Sims 2 or 3.. My computer couldn't handle Sims 1 + a few expansions (after installing 2, it already became a hell to play it). So I won't even try the other two. Is that game still fun to play? The only thing I liked about the Sims was building those houses. Besides that, I didn't really enjoy playing with the family..

I guess different people would like different things about the game. Some people like just building and creating things, some people like to build families and grow large family trees. Other people may like to just get as much money as they can and keep growing their house. So I guess different people enjoy the game in different ways. I find the game fun to play, though. :3
I just wish it wasn't so glitchy. hah. =P

^ Did you use the online site to check the system requirements? It might have some internal requirements that your computer didn't meet. My old computer met the minimum and it barely ran Sims 3 so I had to get a new computer. It was time to get a new one anyway, and my graphics card isn't recognized by Sims 3 so I can run it on the highest settings and it works! xD
I hate building houses. So time consuming in Sims 3, because I have to make EVERYTHING match. It took me like, 3 days to build a house for sims I created based on me and my friends and they ended up having kids and had to move out anyway >.>
I don't download a lot of custom content, mostly the free stuff from the Sims 3 website and some hair. I prefer my hair to be maxis matched, so that the textured aren't unrealistically shiny compared to everything else xD
Oh! My favourite part of Sims 3 is making over the townsfolk. So fun! I've given Claire Ursine, the hermit, a makeover. It was mostly just hair but dude, a few trips to the gym and affording a gym at home (through her kleptomania) and bam! She's quite hot, actually. She's semi-muscular in my game but man, she's hard to keep weight off. I have to have her on the treadmill for about 4 hours daily to keep her slim xD She's not skinny though, which I like, but she's realistic xD

^ Yeah, I love making people! It's so addicting. haha. x3 Some of the hair for DL does look a little too 'shiny', but I've found some hair downloads that I really really like, and it's fun to use those. :3
Building houses DOES take forever. A lot of the time, I just use the game ones or find one for DL that I like because I always have the hardest time making things look right. Not so much the build or the house, but the interior decorating, like you said. It's so fustrating sometimes x3 I did manage to make a few houses that I liked, but... eh. The ones for DL look better than mine, haha x3
I've actually played a homeless person before (large property, practicly no money, no house), and it was wicked fun. I slept in the park, showered at the gym, ate fruit from the park, and saved up until I had enough money. I built most of my mom off of gardening and her job as a cheff (which didn't last too long before I went to full-time gardening). It's crazzyy how much money you can make gardening if you keep up with it. It's probably my favorite skill in the game. Once you get your garden to perfect stats, a few money trees, or just a bunch of things and leave the sprinkler on, you make tons and tons of cash. I started to make around 10-20k a day that way. hah. It's also fun to make money writing books, but gardenings more interactive while with the writing you just have to sit there as your sims sit at the computer, which isn't nearly as fun.
I havn't played sims in a good 2-3 months, though... I've gotten annoyed with how slow it is, and I have to go through, get rid of custom content, and clear some space on my computer or something & hope that helps.

Did a homeless person type thing in the sims 2, i wanted to see what would happen if you didn't pay your bills so the repo man would come.
Sims 2 had to be uninstalled from the computer, it was apparently making sims 3 a little bit more buggy my dad had to do a reinstall of all the games *wonders if the firefly sims i built on my birthday are still around*
the sims 3 equivalent to night life has been announced, doesn't say when it's going to be released though.

There's actually a pretty well known blog about a father & daughter homeless couple. It was really touching and I even cried a little bit. It ended in November of 2009 but it's a really interesting read! It's for Sims 3 but really, it's quite interesting to see things play out like this.
I might do the homeless thing, though with the Lucky old man. I don't remember his name, but he's a premade in Riverview, I think. I actually played him for a few minutes and let him adopt a little girl but I think I'll try that again, haha. I'll probably let him adopt a child because, while a baby or toddler would be awesome, he doesn't have the money for them. A child seems the best option, but I might wait a bit so he gets some money. Seriously. His trailer is horrible D:
I'm really tempted to re-install Sims 2. I loved playing out Angela & Lilith's lives. Lilith was a teen mum who got married to Dirk and they had two children <3 Angela probably died, I really don't know, I never liked her. Then there was Cassandra, who was left at the altar by Don, then she basically ended up marrying Dirk's dad.
But ugh, re-downloading all of my content (which isn't much, I only really use default replacements) would be time consuming xD
